Warwick Students’ Union is an independent, not for profit, charitable membership organisation which serves as the main representative body for the students of the University of Warwick.

The Union is run by students, for students, empowering them to shape their Warwick experience.
As Director of Finance and Systems you will report into the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees supporting the delivery of the Union’s strategic plan through good financial planning and accounting and effective management of the finance systems, functions and resources.
You will ensure all aspects of financial accounting, planning, control and analysis and are carried out efficiently and effectively, provide a high quality service to Students’ Union members including advice and guidance. You will work closely with the Chief Executive and elected officers to ensure the Union’s vison, goals and core values are achieved; support the board of trustees in understanding their responsibility for financial sustainability, risk management and audit and to determine the strategic development of IT Systems software and hardware and to ensure system security.
You will be a professional, qualified accountant with significant experience of senior management and working in a complex organisation. You will possess strong technical accounting skills, high level leadership qualities, political sensitivity, commitment to the development of young adults, trustworthiness and good negotiating skills. You will have a strong academic background including a good honours degree or equivalent qualification, with a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Experience of managing and developing IT systems is highly desirable.
