Job Overview

We are seeking to appoint engineers to provide an in-house engineering design service on behalf of the University. This service will include providing feasibility advice, design, supervision and contract management of all new build, refurbishment and planned maintenance projects.
In making this appointment the MEP Design Services Manager is seeking an experienced engineers who, among other qualities, can demonstrate:
- Significant experience of project delivery in either an engineering project management role or in a consultant design engineering position, preferably in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- A high degree of competency in the use of construction and engineering contracts and their administration, and also in construction procurement and project management.
- Knowledge and experience of health and safety and construction legislation as client and designer, and of construction technology with an engineering specialism, building design and specification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex information to multiple stakeholders, and to form strong working relationships with colleagues across the University.
In this busy and varied role you will be involved in interesting and challenging projects; supporting the University’s capital programme and also managing major maintenance and infrastructure improvement projects. You will also play a key role in coordinating internal staff and external consultants within the structure of these projects.
