Job Description
You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely management information to senior management. You will support planning, decision making and financial control, and reporting to external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Based in the University’s Finance Office your responsibilities will include:
Working within Financial Control the role will be responsible for the supervision of the Accounts Receivable department, ensuring their efficient and effective operation. Working with both the AP and AR teams to implement process improvements across both functions. Involvement in the University’s quarter end and yearend routines.
The Successful Applicant
You will be an ambitious and pro-active individual with excellent communication and organisational skills.
You will possess a recognised professional accountancy qualification and a good honours degree, or equivalent.
You will have significant experience within a finance function or within practice and possess a sound knowledge of accounting standards and good overall technical awareness.
You will have substantial experience of the preparation of business plans, management and financial accounting and have a good knowledge of VAT and corporation tax.
You will have experience of process improvement/implementation experience in a large complex organisation, team management experience and can demonstrate a good understanding of FRS102.
The role is approx 18 hours per week however we could negotiate this slightly and the role is a grade 7 paying up to £49k fte. You will receive a generous holiday entitlement and entrance to the USS pension.
