The consultant team will meet with key stakeholders to gain a complete understanding of the role and institutional context along with the skills, experience and qualities sought for the post. At the meeting, a project plan will be drawn up with delivery dates and communication plan agreed to ensure the campaign is brought to a successful conclusion.
RESEARCH
Based upon the detailed briefing meeting held, we use a comprehensive global research strategy to identify talent with the required skillset and experience. This involves the mapping of relevant institutions and extensive networking and engagement across higher education and other relevant sectors.
CONSULT
During the research stage, the consultants work with specialists to advise on search. SearchHigher has consultants that are active academics across a wide range of disciplines to help guide the search using their expertise.

INTERVIEWS
The project team provides support throughout the interview process, liaising with the necessary stakeholder and HR team to plan and coordinate the interviews and any assessments required. SearchHigher can also host interviews or informal meetings from any of its global locations. The project team will also coordinate all the domestic and international logistics for the interviews to ensure both parties can focus on the more important matters at hand.
NEGOTIATIONS
Our experience of senior appointments along with the rapport built up with the shortlisted candidates adds real value to the negotiation phase, allowing us to navigate the complexities of this final stage and ensure both parties reach a positive outcome.
CONCLUSION
Our role doesn’t stop once the offer has been accepted. We still work with both the institution and the candidate to coordinate any relocation logistics and in the finalisation of any preparations for the start date. We also ensure that those that are unsuccessful receive honest and constructive feedback to aid in their future career development and to leave them with a positive sense of the client and process.

APPROACH
Following on from the extensive research phase, the consultant team discretely approach suitable individuals presenting a compelling narrative along with a persuasive yet fair vision of the institution and opportunity.
ATTRACT
The SearchHigher team will identify suitable advertising where necessary and draft engaging copy to draw the best applicants. Alongside this, the digital and design team will create a campaign website and candidate brochure to provide more detail and host the further particulars such as the job description and person specification along with utilising its social media capability to engage as wide an audience as possible.
ASSESS
Following the search and engagement of suitable talent, the lead consultant will meet with all relevant candidates to identify and assess the individuals experience, capabilities, interpersonal skills and values. This will then inform the final decision as to the suitability of the candidate to be presented onto the final shortlist.
